popo at Museo Tamayo

popo transforms a common and low-cost industrial building block to a new multi-purpose object by applying a specular glazing. Assembled to a topographic landscape the sculpture recreates Mexico’s famous volcano Popocatépetl as a walkable 1:350 scale model. Popo is conceptualised by Zeller & Moye for Ideal Estándar, a social franchise model of utilitarian artwork production, developed by the gallery Arena México Arte Contemporáneo. Show open 6 to 9 Oct 2016 at Museo Tamayo as part of Design Week Mexico.
